A Cross Section Of Excellent Hollywood Movie Write Ups

By Jay Gamble

In the past you had to go to a store if you wanted to rent or buy a movie. Instead of buying or renting the dvd, people now can choose a movie download instead. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.

The Great Race: Long, occasionally ludicrous, often labored comedy, not the best ever made as promoted. Fight pattern and barroom fight are highlights, although the pie quarrel falls flat, other gimmicks don't work. This is absolutely a mixed box, albeit Natalie looked much better than she did in "The Darling Shrub." Cast includes Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk, Keenan Wynn, Larry Storch, and George Macready. (150 minutes, 1965)

The Vow: (2001) C-l24 Nevada detective, on the night of his retirement, finds that he is engaged in the case of a little gal's murder and vows to her parents that he can bring the murderer to due process. Another awesome Nicholson acting job anchors this fine-tuned film, which sidesteps recipe in favor of nuance. The Vow is based on the novel by Friedrich Durrenmatt. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Robin Wright Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Vanessa Redgrave, Tom Noonan, Patricia ClllIkson, Michael O'Keefe, Aaron Eckhart, Costas Mandylor, Helen Mirren, Mickey Rourke, and Sam Shepard. (124 minutes, 2001)

Front Page Woman: Interesting tale of adversary journalists Davis and Brent trying to outdo each other canopy uncommon murder and trial. Cast includes Bette Davis, George Brent, Winifred Shaw, Roscoe Karns, and Joseph Crehan. (82 minutes, 1935)

Adam's Apples: This movie is a bizarre dark comedy about two very different men who have a battle of wills. It is a newly developed religious zealot versus a hard core neo-Nazi criminal. The battle of good versus evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Bro, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)

Fool for Love: Sheppard's assessment of 2 ex-lovers who find that they are inextricably stuck together. The tough part is is creating some interest in these characters. Cast includes Sam Shepard, Kim Basinger, Harty Dean Stanton, and Randy Quaid. (106 minutes, 1985)

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Captivating premise of assembling infamous 19th century fictional characters, from Dr. Jekyll and Dorian Gray to Dracula's Mina Harker, whose assorted qualities combine to start a sort of Due process Group. The film is undone by lumpy storytelling, badly orchestrated action, and outsized, cartoonish visual effect patterns. Connery is charismatic as ever playing Allan Quatennain. Cast includes Sean Connery, Shane West, Stuart Townsend, Naseeruddin Shah, Richard Roxburgh, Peta Wilson, Tony Curran, Jason Fleming, David Hemmings, and Max Ryan. (110 minutes, 2003)

Hook: Peter Pan is now all grown up. Captain Hook kidnaps Peter's children drawing him back to Never Land. Back in Never Land he seems powerless. He must remember how to use his imagination again, so he can become the Peter Pan he once was, and save his children from the evil Captain Hook.

Fool's Gold: Tess Finnigan is quietly working on the billionaire Nigel Honeycutt's yacht. She will soon divorce her treasure-hunting bum of a husband Ben. When Ben shows up on the yacht with more clues to sunken treasure in the nearby sea, he intrigues Nigel enough to form a partnership, and start to hunt. They will be up against island criminals, and other treasure hunters.

Valkyrie: Colenel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal soldier who has watched his country go bad under the rule of Adolf Hitler. He eventually joins forces with the German Resistance, a civilian group dedicated to fighting Hitler. From this group a plan is hatched, called operation 'Valkyrie', designed to end Hitler's life.

Remember, be creative and use phrases like "Mp3 Movie Downloads". Try a different search if the first one does not provide good information. Try something different, like "DVD Downloads".
